Introduction
For too long, anthropology has fallen behind psychology and economics regarding visibility. To address this gap, I argue that anthropologists must leverage content creation to promote our field and build our personal brands. So in this blog post, I will explore what it means to be a “Creator Anthropologist” and how digital content marketing can help promote anthropology.
What is an Anthropologist?
An anthropologist is an expert in studying human culture. The role is to understand the complexities of human existence and provide insight into our world. Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about anthropology, such as it being a study of ancient civilizations or being limited to fieldwork in remote locations. Accordingly, we often lack a seat at the table in the media or the boardroom.
What is a Creator?
A creator produces content, such as writing, videos, or podcasts, to promote a message or engage an audience. Content creation can be a powerful tool for promoting ideas, products, or causes, allowing creators to share their message with a broad audience engagingly.
What is Digital Content Marketing?
Digital content marketing creates and distributes valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience. The goal of digital content marketing is to build a relationship with the audience and encourage them to take a specific action, such as visiting a website or purchasing a product.
What is a Creator Anthropologist?
A creator anthropologist combines an anthropologist’s skills with a content creator’s tools. Their goal is to promote anthropology and engage a wider audience by creating valuable and accessible content that meets the needs and interests of their target audience.
How can a Creator Anthropologist use Digital Content Marketing?
To succeed in digital content marketing, creator anthropologists need to create engaging, relevant, and informative content. They must also use various platforms and tools to reach their target audiences, such as social media, podcasts, and blogs. Successful creator anthropologists also collaborate with other creators and engage with their audience to build a community and promote their message.
